He wants us to know this Truth from His Word:
(Growing in grace) they will still thrive and bear fruit and prosper in old age; They will flourish and be vital and fresh (rich in trust and love and contentment)... Psalm 92:14 (AMP)
When I was diagnosed with 13 cancerous tumors in my left breast, although I put on a brave front, I knew my life was broken. I was incredibly afraid, spiritually adrift, and lonely for meaningful friendships with other women who would understand. Emotionally, I was depressed; physically, I was weak from treatment and surgery; and spiritually, I was lost.
In desperation, I turned to a Bible someone had given me called The Life Recovery Bible. I held this Bible in my hands and asked God for a passage to cling to. He gave me an answer in Mark 5:24-34. It is the story of the bleeding woman who reached out to Jesus in desperation, and He healed her. I found the more I pursued a relationship with Him (skeptical and screaming sometimes, I admit), the more He was able to heal me.
I discovered God didn’t want to just heal me physically by removing the cancer through surgery and drugs. God wanted to heal ALL of me, because He created me as a complete human being—a living soul in a physical body with an eternal spirit. This, my dear sisters, is the lavish love He pours out on each of us when we turn to Him to heal what only He can heal…the whole person: body, soul, and spirit.
I invite you to explore this website to discover free materials and resources I use for my own healing and to prevent a reoccurrence.
Breast cancer is more than a physical disease. It is also an emotional and spiritual disease that affects every part of us: body, soul, and spirit. And while thankfully a great number of women can and will survive cancer, thriving means something far more than this. God always intended for us to thrive, and with His guidance we can more fully heal and begin to thrive in ways we'd forgotten were possible.
In Thriving in God's Love, author Suzanne Bonner shares her personal story of wholly healing in body, soul, and spirit after surviving thirteen cancerous tumors in her left breast. While walking with other breast-cancer sisters, she uncovered the seven powerful steps of fully healing after treatment. God wants each of us to rebuild a life that is full and rich in all the ways that matter: faith, feelings, family, forgiveness, food, fitness, and fun. The tools, tips, and strategies in Thriving in God's Love can help breast-cancer survivors find wholeness and completeness in their healing.
